Simple Truths

Mission Statement

1) Why write these blogs–I write to have friends.  Previous to discovering an outlet, I used to drive my friends nuts with my ideas, my takes on news stories, and my fictional ideas.  I’ve been writing fiction, and I still drive my friends nuts with bits and sniglets that I find entertaining.  They’re my sounding board for ideas.  News stories are another matter.  I used to go on rants that drove friends nuts.  I couldn’t help it.  Someone had to hear my take.  Now that I discovered this little outlet, people enjoy being around me again.  I don’t have to have such serious topics anymore.  I can have fun with friends, I can allow them to have their own take, and I can enjoy a certain, inner peace with the knowledge that–even if no one ever reads–I have an outlet.

2) Simple Truths–I believe in simple truths.  I’m not one who believes that we should propose a simple solution and say that’s that.  I believe there are a multitude of simple solutions, and it’s our job to explore and pursue them.  It makes some people feel wonderful to sit back and look at a problem and call it a problem.  Other than gaining greater self-esteem from doing so, there is nothing gained from this approach.  There are no plans to do anything among the wonderful.  They just want to point at stuff, click their tongue and say isn’t that awful, and they hope that you’ll sigh and recognize their recognition.  My simple truth is that if one solution doesn’t work then we should try another one.

3) Objectivity–Most people view others as lacking objectivity when that person doesn’t see their point of view.  They see these people as close-minded, but they don’t consider that other person’s point of view.  I study others’ point of view, I examine it, and I consider it for the sole purpose of defeating it in my mind and on my posts.

4) Entertain–Someone once said, “it is far easier to entertain than it is to educate.”  My concentration will be on the latter, based on the fact that I want to be taken seriously first and foremost.  Once I feel this is accomplished in a blog, I will go back and attempt to insert humor to drive the point home.  It’s long been my motto, watching others, that it is far easier to educate when you’re entertaining.

5) Detonate Myths–It’s my opinion, as a former Democrat, that the liberal philosophy is one built on myths that haven’t been destroyed yet.  You could say that’s Rush Limbaugh’s job, but how many people listen to Rush Limbaugh?  20 million?  Well, the people I know aren’t in that calculation.  Ann Coulter.  What does she sell one million books?  Does anyone read anymore?  Glenn Beck’s been debunked and was removed from Fox.  Sean Hannity’s been dismissed as a partisan, and Bill O’Reilly has been in the media so long that he doesn’t think there’s anyone left in America who doesn’t know the mainstream media is biased.  It’s also my opinion, based on this, that people need to be reminded of this fact day after day, story after story, and issue upon issue.
